The Decree establishing the Restitutions Committee stipulates that the Committee performs its advisory duties, in so far as the application for restitution relates to an object in the Dutch State Collection, pursuant to current national policy.

Starting 30 June 2015, the assessment criterium regarding works from the NK-collection has been changed. See the letter from the State Secretary of Education, Culture and Science of 22 June 2012 below for details.
