It is with regret that we have learned of the death on 2 June of our former chairman 



Mr B.J. Asscher
 



Mr Asscher was vice-chairman (2001-2004) and chairman (2004-2007) of the Restitutions Committee since its foundation in 2001. Since stepping down as chairman late last year, he acted as an advisor to the Committee.

He chaired the Committee with dedication and commitment and his astute judgement was invaluable for the Committee’s recommendations. We have lost an erudite and amiable man.
